The End Of Oz

I am just a few chapters away from finishing The End Of Oz. The End Of Oz is the fourth book in Danielle Paige’s Dorothy Must Die series. I believe this book may be the last book of the series. I do not want to give away any spoilers about the book since it is a part of a series.

One thing I can say about this book is it has a few new characters that are great. One new character is Lang. Lang is a princess of Ev. I really like Lang because she is very different than other characters. She uses her magic to hide her true face so that no one in Ev know what she really looks like. Lang is a character that helps to move the story along and thicken the plot.

If you haven’t read the Dorothy Must Die series yet I highly recommend it. These books are a twist on the classic story everyone knows. I’m excited to see how the story ends and what happens to Oz in the end.

The You I’ve Never Known

I just started reading The You I’ve Never Known by Ellen Hopkins. This book is about two young girls with separate lives, but very similar stories. I really enjoy reading Hopkins’s book because of the poetry format. In this book Ariel’s story is told in Hopkins’s typically poetry format and Maya’s story is told in paragraph form.  I think that writing each point of view in a different format helps the reader know which girl is talking and narrating each part. So far this book deals with love, parents, family, friends, pain, and many other topics. I am really enjoying this book and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds as I continue reading. If you’ve read any other Ellen Hopkins books I think that you would enjoy this one. If you’ve never read a book by Ellen Hopkins you should still check this book out!

The Green Mile

I am currently reading The Green Mile by Stephen King. This book is about a prison where the main characters work with prisoners who are awaiting their execution. This book not only talks about the prisoners on the green mile, but also the guards on the mile. I am halfway through the book and I am really enjoying it! I really like how the narration goes back in fourth between Paul at the nursing home and Paul at the prison. When this book was originally released it was released in six small separate books. Readers would have to wait months between each book. It was later released as one complete book. I am reading it in the way it originally came, six small separate books. Whenever I finish one book I can’t wait to get home and start the next little book! If you enjoy reading Stephen King I would highly recommend reading The Green Mile!

Dolores Claiborne

Today, August 21 2017, is the day of the solar eclipse so I have started reading Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King. I am not one hundred percent sure what role the eclipse plays in this book, but I know there is one! I am also not positive what this book is about, but it is a Stephen King book so I am sure I will love it. The things I do know about this book is that there is a well, an eclipse, and Dolores Claiborne.

Lord Of Shadows

I have recently started reading Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. This is the second book of Clare’s Dark Artifices series. The story picks up with Emma Carstairs and the Blackthorns dealing with the aftermath of the first book’s events. I really enjoy this series because Clare does a very nice job of continuing the story with a nice recap of the previous book. I am excited to see where this book takes Emma Carstairs and her friends.

If you were thinking of reading the Dark Artifices series I would highly recommend reading Clare’s Mortal Instruments series and Infernal Devices series. All three of the series go along with the others so it would benefit readers to read all of them. An interesting thing in the Mortal Instruments series is that all six books have titles that begin with “City Of”. All three  books in the Infernal Devices series all have titles that begin with “Clockwork”. However, the first two books of the Dark Artifices series do not have titles following the patterns of the other two series. If you are a reader who enjoys reading fantasy and adventure series I highly recommend all three of these series.

Christine

Now that it is summer I will have much more time to read! The first book on my summer reading list is Christine by Stephen King. I have not gotten too far in the book because I have been a little busy, but the book is about a killer car. I am excited to read this book because I think it will be interesting to see how King creates an evil car. I know this book will be great because it’s Stephen King!DSC00019

The X-Files Origins: Devil’s Advocate

I’m reading Devil’s Advocate by Jonathan Maberry. This book goes along with the book Agent Of Chaos. Devil’s Advocate is Scully’s story before she was in the FBI. This book took me off guard because I was expecting Mulder’s book to be more supernatural than Scullys, but I was wrong. This book so far seems to do more with the mythology of the x-files in a way. I’m really enjoying this book because its nice to see what Scully was like before she met Mulder. I think that the origins series is interesting because both books are written by two different people and that makes since because Mulder and Scully are two different people. I would say that if you like the X-Files then you should check out Devil’s Advocate.

The X-Files Origins : Agent Of Chaos

I am almost finished with The X-Files Origins: Agent Of Chaos by Kami Garcia. I was excited when I saw this book at the store because I am a big fan of the tv series. This book is about Agent Mulder when he is a senior in high school. In this book Mulder is not in the FBI yet, but he is still solving crimes. I like this book because it is interesting to see Mulder as a young kid and before Scully. There are some funny things mentioned in the book that are funny in the show, Mulder’s porn obsession. There is a second book in the X-Files Origins. The Second book is called The X-Files Origins: Devil’s Advocate and yes that one is about Young Dana Scully. I’m excited to finish Agent Of Chaos and if you are a fan of the X-Files I would check these books out.

Everything Everything

last week I started reading the book Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I don’t normally like little love stories, but I am enjoying this one. In this book Madeline has a rare disease that makes her unable to go outside or leave her house. Madeline’s life is fine until Olly moves in next door and changes everything. I read The Fault In Our Stars a couple years ago and although this book isn’t about cancer, it reminds me of The Fault In Our Stars. I’m already half way done with it because it is a very fast read. I heard that this book is being made into a movie so I am glad I am reading the book before seeing the movie. I think I may know what happens at the end, but I am not 100% sure yet. I am really enjoying this book.
